There will be a workday weekend at Colwich Dec 8th & 9th.
Thanks to all who showed up on Saturday! Thanks to all their hard work what was planned for two days got done in one!! Holes 6 and 13 are now ready to install. Good thing too; the weather today (Sunday) has taken a turn and the wind and cold would likely cancel plans for today. Now, they've been called off cause the job was completed!
The plan is to get some more fairways cleared and progress to an 18 hole wooded course with 2x tees and 2x pins. If you haven't been out there in the last year, you should go check out the new layout. By Bill's effort with this new design and those who have helped make it happen, we were able to keep the disc golf course in Colwich.
Please come out and help, even if you only have a couple of hours. Every bit makes a big difference. There will be hot dogs and chips. Please bring your own beverage. And bring gloves for handling brush. Work will start by 9am. Hope to see you there,
For those of you who don't know, or remember how to get to the course, here is a link to a google map that will help.
The final ACDGC tournament of 2012 and the last stop on the KDGA Oz Tour takes place Saturday, November 3rd. at Hermann Hill Park
Once again Dynamic Discs will be running the event for us, and you can register online at http://bit.ly/UhlIcG

This year's ace race was our biggest to date. Thanks to everyone for coming out!
We had 30 packs and 45 players. Thanks very much to all those who sold a disc to make this work. Nobody was turned away. We'll try to do better next year. Thanks to everyone for staying patient with the photographers, families, and the course players. Hope the course was fun. Thanks to Steve Volbruck and Mike Speer for bringing baskets. I'm glad everyone seemed to make it through the water holes without losing many discs.
There were a lot of aces this year! Dennis Farrell and myself had 2 aces and a metal with 3 holes to play. That when Loyd banks a shot off the arch and into the bucket for his 2nd ace. With the ink still wet, Loyd crashes through some trees on the very next hole for his 3rd ace! Congrats on Loyd's 2nd ace race victory (4 discs and a disc golf bag). Mike Scho won the CTP playoff for 2nd place (3 discs). Dennis Farrell takes 3rd (2 discs). Here are the results:

The 2012 Air Capital Disc Golf Club Membership Drive and
Championship Tournament took place, Sunday, October 7th at Oak Park. Despite cooler than normal temperatures for early fall the attendance was great.
The club provided the fixin's for a cookout and many of the the players brought side dishes for our traditional grill out.
There was one round of 18 to decide division Champions and to award the ACDGC travelling Trophy to the overall Champion. The final scores are posted below.
Thanks to Crispin, with Hand Eye, there were also a lot of prizes awarded in a giant "Ring of Fire". For those of you visiting the site who have no idea what that is; everyone forms a circle about ten meters away from a pole hole basket. On the count everyone attempts to putt into the basket at the same time. Makers can be immediate winners or playoff for the prize.
For more on the whole event and the final scores here's a note from the Air Capital Disc Golf Club President, Mike Schoenhofer:
Thanks to everyone who made it out Sunday. Last year's record of 52 was completely blown away with 73 players who showed up!
Brandon Nelson and Brandon Tackett both shot 46, tying the tournament record. Brandon Nelson won the sudden death playoff on the 3rd hole and became the 5th ACDGC Champion, taking home the champion's travelling trophy. Well played, congrats!
Thanks to Jeff & Jacob Laha for bringing the tables and chairs. Thanks to Mike Speer and Jeff Laha for help with registration. Thanks to Jason for serving as the grill master again this year. And an extra special thanks to Crispin for making the trophies and giving away tons of stuff in that huge ring of fire.

This is going to be sweet! Players Packs are going to be $25 and will include a Roc (DX or Flat Top) and a Buzzz (Z or ESP) featuring the stamp.
I will be taking on-line orders ($30 shipped) for players packs. You can play the event at your local course and report the results to me. It doesn't matter as long as you give both discs an equal chance.
You must stipulate before you start, which disc you think will have more metal hits (basket and above). I will then put your name into the Roc or Buzzz box. After all the results are tabulated I will pick a couple of winners at Random from the winning box.
The actual Challenge will be going down at Oak Park in Wichita Kansas on Satuday Aug. 11th. I plan to set up a shorter Ace Race type course in the area around the old girl scout house. Anyone who aces at the Challenge will receive a "bonus prize".
The results will be tabulated after Sunday the 19th and I will draw a couple of winners on the 20th.
I plan on being ready for people to take the Challenge starting at 10:00. I also plan on packing up and rolling out at about 3:00.
There is no limit on the the number of holes that you have to play. You can play just 9 or you can play 99. You can throw the Roc followed by the Buzzz. You can play one round with the Roc, then the next round with the Buzzz. You just have to give both of them an equal chance.
Spread the word!

The 2012 Wichita Doo Dah Open overall champion was Crispin Carrasco, shooting 207 for all four rounds.
The event drew in 121 disc golfers from Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. Gusty winds provided an extra diminsion of challenge for everyone. Professionals and advanced amateurs played Oak Park on Saturday while the rest of the field started the weekend competition at Herman Hill. Overall scores reflect the real challenge of southeast winds gusting well over 30 mph both Saturday and Sunday. The impact at Herman Hill was amplified as the wind is channelled along theArkansas river, gaining speed before blasting over the open bank on the park's south side.
Here are the winners of each division, along with their scores and cash/prize amounts; folowed by the other cash/prize winners.
